【Announcement】Application for the Master's and Doctoral Qualification Examinations in 1st Seminar, Academic Year 2025 (Deadline: 3 Septembr) * Application is open from today until 5:00PM, Wednesday, September 3.  *Master's students who have completed four semesters of enrollment are required to apply for and take the qualification examination in this semester. * First-Year and Second-Year-in-First-Seminar students who have approved with your advsors may apply to take this examination earlier.  * The qualification examination will be held throughout Monday, October 20, during the mid-term examination week. Examination Schedule - Monday, October 20 * 09:00 - 12:00 (domestic students): Early Period and Post-WWII Period   09:00 - 13:00 (international students) * 14:00 - 17:00 (domestic students) Qing Period and Japanese Colonial Period   14:00 - 18:00 (international students) ENTRY CUT-OFF TIME: Students will not be allowed to take the exmination if who are failed to enter the examination room within 10 minutes before the starting time. Additional Notes for Doctoral Students — Professional Subject Examination Applications must be submitted before Wednesday, September 3. The examination date will be within the mid-term exmination week. (October 20-27). For the arrangement of exact date please contact our staff.  A reading list is required for the doctoral professional subject examination. The reading list must be submitted at least one month prior to the selected examination date (between September 27 – October 1). Late submission may result in cancellation of the examination application. The same application form is used for both the general qualification exam and the doctoral professional subject exam.

【Scholarship】Application Open for the College of Liberal Arts Graduate Students  Scholarship, 1st Semester, Academic Year 2025 (Deadline: September 3) Students who wish to apply for the scholarship must submit their application to the Institute Office before Wednesday, September 3, 2025.   All application materials must be typed, not handwritten. Please also email a digital copy to the Institute Office. Articles submitted for review should include the full manuscript and the review certification. These documents must be submitted in hard copy. If you are unable to deliver in person, please mail them to the Institute Office. Please attach your Transcript and Current Semester Student Status Letter. Students who are admitted as the top ranked candidate in the Master’s/Doctoral admission examination for AY 2025 may apply for the scholarship by their admission transcript Evaluation Criteria for the Scholarship in Our Institute: Item Category Assessment Criteria Points 1 Scholarly monographs, book chapters, journal articles Peer-reviewed; academic quality of the publication venue; indexed in THCI, TSSCI, etc.; priority given to works related to Taiwan history 10 points per item, no upper limit 2 Conference papers Peer-reviewed status; academic level of the organizer; priority given to Taiwan history–related topics; please attach program & offprint (poster presentations not eligible) 3 points per item, up to 10 points 3 Book reviews Peer-reviewed; academic level of publisher; priority for Taiwan history topics 3 points per item, up to 8 points 4 Popular science writing, general publications, and other works not listed in Items (1)–(3) Peer-reviewed status; academic level of publisher; priority for Taiwan history topics 1 point per item, up to 6 points 5 Performance and service contributions (e.g., student assistants) Example: Top-ranked admission , Scholarship NTD 10,000 3 points per item / prescribed award 6 Eligible works must fall within one academic year. For the 1st Semester of AY 2023 review, the publication period is August 1, 2022 – July 31, 2023. 7 Please submit the official full-semester transcripts (purple hard copy), publication certificates, review proof, offprints, conference programs, etc. 8 “Publications” must be formatted according to the submission guidelines of New History. Items not formatted accordingly will not be evaluated. 9 The same work may not be submitted more than once. Violation will result in disqualification. 10 The maximum funding amount per student will be determined based on the total number of applicants.   Only works recognized as valid scholarly output by the Scholarship Committee will be evaluated. The application form follows the resolution approved during the Institute Affairs Meeting on December 25, 2024. Notes: Scholarship recipients may simultaneously receive student-aid-grant. Recipients of this scholarship/aid may also apply for other internal and external scholarships or grants. Regulations of other programs will apply if applicable. Articles submitted in the previous round may not be resubmitted. Violation will require full repayment of funds. Eligible publication period for this round: August 1, 2024 – July 31, 2025.
